Pocher 1/8th Volvo F16 Turbo Diesel Engine

Recommended Posts

Here’s one I made earlier - I’ve put it in this section as it’s a vehicle engine. Back in the day, Pocher produced two 1/8th scale Volvo tractor units, the F12 and F16. They also produced the F16 turbo diesel engine as a standalone kit, which is what you see here. Apart from the I beam stands and oil filter decals, it’s built straight from the box. I included the Fergie tractor in the same scale to give an idea of how big this engine is. It is a big lump of plastic - 13" (330mm) long by 6.5" (115mm) tall.

Nice, good colour. What did you use for paint?

I have this kit too, got it pretty cheap off a second hand site. I got Paul Koo's DVD as well, so I'll be building it with all the trim. Those parts are big indeed!

Jeroen, The paint I used was an acrylic car paint in an aerosol can - Halfords Ford Modena Green over grey primer.

Nice, I remember years ago a local model shop selling the F12 kits for £250.

Wish I could go back and get a pile 😱

Got this engine in the stash, got a folder of pictures and plan to do a detailed diorama of an old engine that’s been lifted from a truck when my skills improve enough to pull that off 🤣
