A short lection in Finnish meteoroligal terms also used by Valtion lentokonetehdas in naming their aircraft types:

VL Tuisku blizzard

VL Viima draught

VL Pyry snowstorm

VL Humu whirl

VL Myrsky tempest

VL Pyörremyrsky whirlwind

Does that mean I'm in? Well, yes, but probably not with any of those. I'm a high quality, injection molded plastic kit man only and those just aren't served for. But the VL Pyörremyrsky is beautiful! V-P

Tbh my mind started to wander while walking the dog this morning :)

But you have to admit it would make for a divers and interesting GB.

Now afaik almost every country in the world had something called a lightning so keep up the suggestion!!

Also do meteor and comet qualify?

I have some subjects for this, Mirage's 1/400 ORP Grom (Thunderbolt), ORP Błyskawica (Lightning), and ORP Wicher (Whirlwind).

Also Eduard's 1/48 Taifun, Minicraft's 1/48 F-5E Lightning

Gidday, if naval subjects are allowed then any Japanese warship (and there were many destroyers) with names ending in xxxxxkaze would qualify? Kaze means wind or breeze. Hence IJN Kamikaze (Devine Wind or Spirit Wind), Nokaze (Field Wind), Shimakaze (Island Wind), Suzukaze (Cool Breeze) etc. I don't know what's in my stash yet that would qualify but I might have something. Regards, Jeff.

That would be a yes I love the more diverse GBs, so long as the name is a meteorological occurrence it's in.

I'm looking forward to seeing a Nissan Sunny :).

Pontiac Tempest

Quote

Now, in the ’60s, there were only two other cars made in America that had positraction, and independent rear suspension, and enough power to make these marks. One was the Corvette, which could never be confused with the Buick Skylark. The other had the same body length, height, width, weight, wheelbase, and wheel track as the ’64 Skylark, and that was the 1963 Pontiac Tempest.

:rofl2:

This morning’s weather here in Melbourne brings to mind the Italeri C-27A Chuck(ing it down)!

There’s a lot of great subjects in this thread but it’s mostly wind, thunder or lightning related. Not much precipitation. I suppose a De Havilland Drizzle probably wouldn’t have sold well!
