Excellent, just wonderful.

All those fiddly turnbuckles do make a difference.

Looking forward to the RFI.

Cheers,

Alistair

Thanks very much Alistair - any further biplanar urges? 🤣

There might be one or two on the way.

I may or may not have a swordfish to do. .

There is a sea Gladiator to do at some point and @bigbadbadge * keeps trying to push me towards the 1/72 Felixstowe that he made me buy.

See these pushy folks. :wicked:

*Doesn't he have a Sunderland to do at some point soon.

Cheers,

Alistair.

Roger the Gladiator looks absolutely stunning great work on this wonderful kit.  Glad you didn't find the rigging too bad. Great work this is a cracking scheme too.

I am just waiting for Alistair @AliGauld to get to the Felixstowe  now, we'll after the Swordfish!!!

Great rigging, I might ask you for some finer details if/when I get one.

I just looked at those finishing shots again Roger, and you really did do a great job there.  I like how you did the rigging; I’m not sure if it’s my inexperience with rigged things but taking the rigging to the top of the struts prior to landing the upper wing was something I wouldn’t have thought of but makes perfect sense.

I like the shadow shading on the lower wing too.  I did that on the Swordfish but it doesn’t show very well, on yours it’s quite clear and a striking feature which enhances the overall finish.

Thanks very much Mark. I don't think the rigging is strictly correct but I'm happy with the results. I think the S1E scheme on the Stringbag (and others) is far more understated - some artwork schemes I have seen of the Glad are quite gaudy, so I'm glad (!) you like it,

Cheers

Brilliant work on the Gladiola*! I really must buy this kit. I know that resistance is futile. I will be assimilated into the Gladiator collective.

Regards,

Jason

*I've decided this is my cutesy nickname for the Gladiator - now I just have to work out some sort of Cockney rhyming slang nickname for it. Let's see, a gladiola is a flower, flower rhymes with power, power is, uh, okay, this is going to take some work...

  • 3 weeks later...

- I've followed this post from the beginning, this triggered my will to build mine, but I'm facing a problem, not deadly be quiet, I have a set of masking for a Glad in winter cmouflage in Finland, but these Glads had all skis instead of wheels and my kit is graced with beautifull wheels (ICM RAF Mk I 1/32), so I'm in search of a whole set of skis, scratch building them is far above my capabilities owing to their complexity, so if ever, some one among you all had in his spare box,or in one to be built kit one of these days gathering dust somewhere in a stash, or the possibility to print them in 3D, I will gratefully accept his help, I didn't find any positiv answer in my surrounding and writing in Ukraine for spare today is not the best idea to have... So finger crossed......
