dov
Hallo I never had anything to do with the Mirage F1. I have a kit for the trainer version from Kitty Hawk in 1/48. Which book, or website you suggest to get a reasonable idea what this a/c is? Happy modelling
GiampieroSilvestri
The best book certainly is the two volume by Lela press from Michel Liebert and Sebastien Buyck but it is long out of print and quite expensive.Than there is the histoire&collections book "les materiels de l'armee de l'air" about the Mirage F1 by Frederic Lert. Here is a link to the second book at a german shop. https://www.zinnfigur.com/Buecher-Medien/Buecher/Luftfahrt/Frankreich/Dassault-Mirage-F1-Monoplanes-F1C-F1CR-F1CT-Biblanes-F1B-et-Versions-d-Exportation.html I hope this is of some use. Giorgio N
If you want a quick and cheap option specifically aimed at modellers, then I suggest looking for the special issue by Cocardes. It's OOP but can still be found easily enough, this French shop for example seems to have it in stock https://www.tonyshop.fr/cocardes-1101/cocardes-hors-serie-n°1-cocardes-mirage-f1-57785.html May be worth searching around, you may find a copy closer to you or with cheaper delivery. The book is all in French language but all variants are illustrated with drawings and pictures so even without speaking the language it's possible to have a good idea of which details should go on each different member of the family. Aircraft from all users are described together with their colour schemes and a number of kits are briefly reviewed in the final section. .
vangos
If you want a ''walkaround'' book this is an interesting option. https://www.scalemates.com/books/mirage-f1-b-c-ct-aviascope-2-christophe-verdoux--103175

Des
In addition to all of the worthy titles already mentioned there is Check List No.1 on The Mirage F1 - https://www.scalemates.com/books/mirage-f-1-amd-ba-checklist-1-frederic-vergneres-philippe-auger--111353 - dates back to 2003 but includes detail photos of aircraft and weaponry , line drawings , colour profiles , unit badges. The print edition of the Cocardes book mentioned above is still showing as available for 12 Euros at - https://dogfight-editions.com/en/special-issues/11-hors-serie-cocardes-n1.html - but they also did a follow up dealing with cockpit instrumentation for the different variants which has only ever been available as a PDF download for 5 Euros - https://dogfight-editions.com/en/special-issues/2-cocardes-digital-hors-serie-n01.html - again French only but the illustrations and drawing do the talking in any language.
tempestfan
While possibly a bit dated (1987?) now, there also was an Aerofax.
Hook
Another good starting point is the feature "Dassault Mirage F1: Gallic Guardian" in World Air Power Journal Vol. 17, p.46–95. Cheers, Andre
