bootneck
I am contemplating building a 1950s/1960s civilian, or postwar ex-WD, breakdown lorry and need to find dimensions for the crane unit. There appears to be two types of crane, a 1.5 ton (30 cwt) and a 3 ton. The 1.5 ton looks like this - I believe this is the one on the Emhar OSB recovery truck. The 3 ton looks like this. Can anyone here help with finding the dimensions for these, so that I can scratchbuild them? I would get the Emhar kit but cannot afford forty-odd quid just for the crane part. cheers, Mike
JeroenS
Hi Mike, will this help? Measurements are in mm, scale 1/24. I can take more pics, measurements as needed, no problem.
bootneck
Hello Jeroen, that is just the sort of thing I am looking for, thank you very much. I note that the sides are already on your model, therefore preventing a profile shot, but would it be possible to take photos directly from above and behind please. With those details I can now start sketching out a plan. Thank you again, Mike
JeroenS
Hi Mike, I also scrounged up some pics of the Blitzbuild I "blitzed" the Bedford for. Here's some new ones. Just let me know if you need anything else!

bootneck
Those images are just what I need! I plan to draw up the sections in order to 3D print the crane unit. I have done a very quick sketch of the profile in Inkscape. Those extra images should give me enough detail to draw it all up in Fusion 360 for a 3D print. Very many thanks!
