Beautiful, just beautiful. I like the way you make producing works of art like this seem effortless. I was just reading in the new edition of Airfix Model World that the initial production run  of this kit has sold out and I can see why.

Craig.

Thanks Craig,

You are too kind.

It is a cracking kit and such a joy to build.

Very neat and tidy work Alistair.  This Mustang is coming together well!

Thanks Mark,

It's starting to come together, I think.

Alistair

I clear coated the Mustang this morning and got on with some markings and stencils.

And with the doors popped off.

There's still one to do but that will be on the flap when I finally get round to it.

They have been hit with softener and I'll see how that goes but I think it'll need more over the upper roundel.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Thanks very much,

What have you decided to go with?

Just caught up on this Alistair, she looks wonderful mate.

Stay safe.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

I decided that I'd better remove the digit and get some of the ancillaries covered with paint as I'm heading out for the pictures tonight.

So various bits were clipped off, cleaned up , primed and partly or fully painted.

Another latecomer, but fascinated buy your build, have just got this kit on the go and it looks a real gem, one area of concern is the attachments to the spruce are very thick on all parts, big and small, Any problems with that for you? Hope you enjoyed the film, not Top Gun by any chance!

Thanks so much,

I will admit that some of the attachment point have been tricky. The most difficult were the flaps where the wing attachment side had three connections which were the side and top kind and there wasn't a lot of room to clean them up without damaging the flaps, but this is a minor niggle which hasn't detracted from my enjoyment of this kit.

We saw Top Gun a couple of weeks ago. It was Jurassic World tonight and I don't know where all the criticism is coming from. The series has always been a check your critical faculties at the door and enjoy the ride for me.

Alistair

Looking very clean and nice! Also, impressive build pace!

Thanks very much,

Back at work tonight so it'll all slow down again.

Lovely work Alistair - she's a little beauty!

Thanks very much Roger.

Still plenty of opportunity to mess it up though.

Weathering even the little I'm going to do here still scares the life out of me.

Alistair

Thanks Andy,

Nearly there. I think.

Ooo that does look lovely Alistair,  great work  fella, looking forward to the weathering.

Chris

Thanks very much Chris,

I'm not looking forward to it but am not planning on doing too much, a light wash and some oil dotting similar to the Spitfire.

All stuff that can be removed if it goes horribly wrong.

Still scares me though.
