Titan Model Kits

Jean Chan I do plan to issue some of the 1/72 kits as 1/48 as well. But mostly I have some different 1/48 subjects in development.

Yeah, once I build that the only place I could display it would be in the south wing of my house next to George Clooney's mansion at Lake Como.

I've had a few inquiries about the rest of the 1:48 B-2 kit structure. Here are some screen grabs of the design (not all details are present in these but they give an idea of the structure) and a couple of photos of a few of the resin parts that I've had time to photograph.

According to Chris (a very nice guy BTW), the B-2 should be available by July 1st for some 350$ (all options included) + postage.

Cheers,

A 3D printed cockpit will be included in the base kit.

Options are detailed landing gear and bays, and bomb bays.

Chris has artwork done for almost all of the B-2s in the fleet.

Cheers,

Well, at least you'll have something to live in when She Finds Out.

You will sneak in in stealth mode,  to later fly away ( in stealthy fashion  again) :D

that is the Spirit behind the B-2, isn't it?

I am seriously considering... :wall:

1:48 B-2 Update: Attached are some updated photos of most of the kit's resin parts. The vac molds have been resurfaced to make the panel lines finer. I'm just waiting on the decals to be printed and delivered. Then I'll make the kits available--hopefully just another couple of weeks. While I'm waiting I've decided to replace the rotary bomb racks with much more detailed CRLs. Stay tuned--I'll post photos when they're finalized.

1:48 B-2 update: Waiting on decal delivery. I neglected to plan for the printer closing for a few weeks for summer holiday so it will be a couple more weeks until the decals are delivered. Each kit will come with a large sheet of 'common' decals and a smaller sheet of your choice for the individual airframe that you want to model. Example below.

In the meantime I've changed the structure of the wheels to separate the hubs from the tires which should make for easier painting and assembly. I've also redesigned the rotary bomb dispensers to add significantly more detail. Almost there.

  • 4 months later...

My kit arrived today.

The wheels are different than what is shown aboce (single piece tires and two-part wheel hubs).

Decals seem a bit on the thick side.

And the wheel wells and bomb bay are a bit naked.

But boy is it impressive!

Well, since you asked for them...

The upper half, with two transparencies included:

The lower half:

And a closer look:

The decals:

And now for the resin bits.

The nozzles, the auxiliary air intake doors and the compressor fronts:

Cockpit, instrument panel with shroud, four sticks and two bang seats (which are so-so):

Underside of the cockpit, with the front geear well and the access tunnel:

Intakes:

The gear legs, the access ladder and a transparent part I don't know exactly what it is for (I suppose landing lights):

Gear bay doors:

Main gear well:

Main wheel tyres and main wheel:

Front wheel parts:

The bomb bay (75$ option):

Bomb bay door, center piece of the bay, and bomb carrier. I'm gonna need some GBU-31...

The gear bays are naked, and it seems the structure of the main gear bay looks quite close to Modelcollect, which is not exactly a good point.

Same thing for the main gear legs.

A French modeller who's building the Modelcollect B-2 told me he thought the air intakes were too close to the leading edge and should be 1.5 cm further back in 1/48th. TBH, I don't know, if anybody can tell me more, I'd be grateful.

The vac parts are nice, I'd say in the Dynavector class (IMO, Dynavector was the Tamiya of vacs).

Cheers,

S.
