Neddy
This is the kit from whence my avatar image came. It was only the second kit build since the resurgence of my kit building activities last year but satisfied a hankering I've had for decades to find and build a Lamborghini Miura kit in a large enough scale for me to handle. After a long search I found that Fujimi had made one years ago in 1/20th scale and an eBay seller in Hong Kong specialising in obsolete kits came up with the goods. It only took a couple of weeks to ship and arrived in excellent condition. TBH I wasn't impressed with the quality of the kit in terms of design and fit but what the heck - it was a Miura! It was sprayed with a Tamiya TS-20 rattle-can and the interior hand-painted using Humbrol acrylic no 71 satin beige. Some interior areas were left unpainted to provide a contrasting colour which seemed like a good idea at the time... 🤨 The engine bay wasn't that well detailed and I wasn't brave or capable enough at the time to improve on it, just glad to get it finished! There's a lot wrong with it but it was a useful learning tool and scratched an itch I'd had for a long time.

desert falcon
Looks good Neddy and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a „basic“ build 👍

Neddy
Yup, and the sequence still makes me cringe! However, I found out the backstory and saw some pics that showed it. The Miura shown impaled on the JCB-like thingy was actually a write-off they acquired for the purpose that had already been comprehensively trashed and was in fact only fit for chucking off a cliff anyway so I felt slightly better about it after that. 😅 Thanks for your comments people. 😊 Edited May 3, 2022 by Neddy
Pete in Lincs
The 'DB5' was a mocked up Lancia, and the E types were the cheapest they could find in London. There is a fabulous Documentary on the tube. https://i.ytimg.com/an_webp/4euNwH6OImY/mqdefault_6s.webp?du=3000&sqp=CK6sxZMG&rs=AOn4CLA2cY65aai_x9VBdg-wR40fVRbZ9w 1
stevehnz
A nicely done Miura there Neddy, I reckon you've got the look spot on. 👍 A pity I've had to wait 50 years to get the pain of seeing those cars trashed assuaged. I can sleep easier now. Steve. 1
