E-3 Sentry seen at Brize 2022?

Hi all,

I live a couple of miles from Brize, so I usually don't bother looking up when something is doing circuits. But last week I noticed a slightly different noise breaking the peace when I was walking the dog, looked up, and saw a E-3 Sentry doing circuits. What's the deal with them? I thought the RAF had withdrawn them?

  • Killingholme changed the title to E-3 Sentry seen at Brize 2022?

According to ADS-B there was an RAF coded E-3 flying around central England last week. It could be an incorrect transponder code or it could be that at least one of them is still flying occasionally for crew training/rating or post maintenance test flying before they go to Chile?

E-3D Sentry ZH106 has been on holiday in the Cotswolds today, coming down from Waddington to do a couple of hours of circuits of Brize.

Saw it flying overhead earlier this afternoon.

ZH103 and ZH106 reported to be leaving for Chile before end of July 2022. A third aircraft - ZH101, is supposedly being broken up on site at Waddington.
