A coat of primer and you're good to go - great work!

Thanks Andre, the primer shouldn't to be far away now.

You have done an amazing job there

Cheers Terry, it had to be done...but at a cost.

Very nice work Stuart. I will follow this build with great interest. I hope one day I will find a bit time to build my Revell 1:48 F-86D early and late versions.

Thanks Serkan. There are times where I wish I'd stayed with 1/48 but space pressed me to 1/72.

And last but not least...

The hot end is done too. Sorry for the slight fuzziness but I was a little jittery after that ordeal. Now I can get everything ready for priming.

And away we go...

20220512-090143.jpg

Primer on...just. Thought I had more than I did but I didn't. Had enough to do the job but a visit to the LMS is called for, oh dear . Outdoor jobs to do now, hopefully get back to her later.

Yesterdays effort longer than I expected...

20220513-080241.jpg

The pergola is the new addition to the garden and it needed painting. I have got a spray gun for such jobs but the neighbour has now got his gazebo up and I couldn't trust myself not to contaminate his gazebo with 'sea grass' paint, so it was out with the mk.1 paintbrush.

This morning, everything got a coating of Tamiya AS12.

Nice on all counts (Pergola and Sabre)

Cheers Martin, the pergola was fun to build but not so much fun painting the bloody thing. Quite surprised that nobody has mentioned the 'green' in the background, it's 8th hole of my local golf course, you would never believe how many golf balls I have...

Remembered to airbrush the wells this time. AK black for the nose. Citadel Mephiston red for the intake chin marking.

I just thought you had a very large garden 🤣

Pergola of course looks the biz, and the F-86K is coming along fine.

Some cursing was involved...

20220519-080424.jpg

Varnished applied and decals went on. The decals were lovely and thin, went on and formed beautifully. A couple of decals were a pain, the starboard wing walk line decided to wrap itself the break apart with my 'faffing' and the port fuselage stripe took and age to look right. Fortunately I have a couple more of these kits and raided its decal sheet for the wing walk line decal as I'll be using the other decal option for that kit.

A quick varnish coat, then we'll start putting things together.

She looks quite attractive dressed in those decals.

It wasn't my first choice but seeing I'm wanting to build most nation variants, went with @Hook suggestion...doesn't look to bad.

She is turning splendidly, Stuart. I still like those red, white and green decals that you have lurking in that pile, ;) though. Nice work, reflected in a nice build.

More people should do this.  ;)

:giggle:. Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, the Dutch never had F-86F's, so this'll be the last.

Sorry Martin but you'll just have to wait.

Hopefully I'll get time over the weekend to get onto this bird but garden calls and then its a few days break.

I thought I was a hard man when I put PE vortex generators on a Valiant, but I see now I'm just a lightweight. Sabre looks stunning.

Praise indeed Edward but those vg's are not perfect and hats off to all those that tackle jobs like this.

Sorry, no movement on the K over the weekend but I'll hopefully have a window tomorrow...

This is good as long as you have not been hit by any of them...

The result looks very eye catching Stuart.

Got in a bit late for this build, but I think it looks fantastic so far!  The cockpit is terrific and I really like the natural metal finish.  I think you should've gone with Norwegian markings, but Dutch are an acceptable substitute... ;) 🤣

I am seriously impressed with the vortex generators.  I am not as familiar with later sabres so this was something new to me.

I'm on a bit of a sabre kick right now so this will be fun to follow!

Thanks Serkan. As for the golf balls, we have had near misses, the worst off-course ball landing on the front drive, says a lot about the golfers ability at the club!

Cheers Opus, be assured a Norwegian bird will be done but not just yet.
