fishplanebeer
I've raised this on other post but without success so as a last attempt is there a Spitfire expert out there who can confirm why the MK.X appears not to have had an aerial mast or any other form of aerial that I can see despite it having the same radio equipment as other similar marques such as the VIII, IX, FR.IX and PR.XI? Ray_W
Seems to have the late war whip aerial. In some images it is difficult to see. EDIT: I also note the Rebecca beam approach aerial under the rear fuselage. Ray
Andy Fletcher
The Spitfire PR.X definitely had a whip aerial on the spine. As Ray says it is often very hard to make out in photos but the one above is probably the best example to clearly show it.
