ModelingEdmontonian Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 This is the first instalment in my "Last Legs Ponies" project--an ex-Texas ANG P-51D pony that was on its last legs in Costa Rican service in 1955. The kit is Airfix, and only modification is the antenna mast, for which I used a needle. The decals are from Blue Rider. Special shout out to @Corsairfoxfouruncle who pointed out and guided me through the "ghost" Texas ANG markings, which made this model particularly interesting for me. Enjoy! Here is the original: 31

SAT69 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I'm very impressed with the ghost markings. I don't believe I've ever seen that done on a model before and yours is most convincing. 1 1

opus999 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 I love how this turned out. The painted over markings are very believable and the over all build is superb. Nice work! 1
ModelingEdmontonian Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Thanks for the kind comments @Wulfman @Bertie Psmith @Corsairfoxfouruncle @HOUSTON @SAT69 @opus999! Regarding the ghost markings, really didn't know what I was doing, but I am happy with how they turned out and again wouldn't have even realized I should do them without @Corsairfoxfouruncle! And I forgot to link the WIP in case of interest: 1
