Hello!
WIP Thread

Without any further ado, here she is: XN781 of 19 Sqn. RAF Gütersloh, flown by Wing Commander R.K. Barcilon, late 1974.

Here she is with XS921.

I had a lot of fun with this model, unfortunately the decals silvered a bit but not much I could do about it. I will be building another lightning soon, most likely XN793.

Thank you for that interesting nugget of information, glad to see the man had a good career (although arguably flying a lightning is already awesome).

Perhaps a bit sneaky of my to "bump up" the post like this after it stopped seeing attention (not on purpose I promise, was busy with other stuff) but I got some better photos of the two Lightnings together.

I can't wait to make more lightnings so I can take even more photos like this... Maybe one day I will reach @LightningBoy levels of lightning-ness! (I have 7 in total, including stash)

I bought 24 Airfix 1/48 Lightnings when they first came out and I don’t even build in that scale! That said, I did build about half of them, very many years ago

Nice job on your pair, look great

Wow! That's quite a collection, especially in 1:48, rare(ish) kit nowadays...
