bigfoot
Welcome to the GB Micheal, nice subject and kit choice. Looks like you’ve got a good collection of Shermans already to add to!
Michael Taylor
First day progress The engine deck/grill parts come with little tabs (should have taken a photo) these are actually meant to be handles. Here I've put handles on the grills and drilled location dimples where the handles on the deck should be, but I probably won't put those on as the deck will be covered with sandbags. used putty to replicate areas on the front hull that had the remnants of waterproofing. Using spacers for the wooden side armor. 5th tank btln. after action report says the wood planks were spaced 4" from the hull but photos of Davy Jones it appears that the slats are spaced 2" from the hull with a piece filling in the forward edge. Iwo tanks (at least the M4A3's) had thier radiators armored I used card stock (literally-business card ) 3

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Quick question in my build thread on the a2, should I add the sealant around stuff since Im lacking the trunking ? Or would it be best to just leave it as is.
Michael Taylor
Only reason I'm adding it is because it shows in the photo, so I'd leave it off

Michael Taylor
sandbags, screening, stowage today. The screen was welded to the deck to support sandbags, I guess. I just needed a bit to replicate this as I wanted to include it as a detail that could be seen beneath the sandbags in spots
Longbow
Very nice !! I think you’ll find the screens were welded on to insure a stand off for satchel charges. Same for the hatches and periscope ports 👍
Bertie McBoatface
Cheese, this is a blitzbuild! It's certainly not run of the mill, either.

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Wow That was fast … It looks great BTW, I do want to do several more Shermans. Maybe my armor interest is being rekindled ?
