I'm not computerised enough to post a link thingy , but anybody who likes Ford's and / or rally cars should take a look at Spotmodels as a couple of new Sierra Sapphire Cosworth rally car kits by a company called DM kits are on there and due in August  . The pictures show plenty of detail and PE parts all for £45 .

  Can't wait already ....

I ordered some decals about a month ago and , although they obviously aren't heavy , the postage was just their usual rate . I think it was about €7.  They arrived within a fortnight . I use Spotmodels because none of the UK based specialists seem to stock the products I need , so I'm happy to pay the postage price . Plus the service and communication they provide is excellent  .

Has anyone here (UK) ordered from Spotmodel recently? How badly do we get stuffed on Brexit / VAT / import duties / delivery charges now?

I've ordered since the dreaded B word with no problem. However I have noticed that initially it was only UPS available as a courier option which I used without problem, but now there are no longer any courier options available (at least none show up in my cart) so we can't order anything that the Royal Mail won't carry and that includes stuff like Tamiya panel line washes and decal solvents! I keep meaning to email them and see if it's a glitch and whether the services are still available but keep forgetting!

I ordered mine direct. It's about the same price and shipping is about the same. If I wait for someone to stock it in the U.S. it would be at least another 6 to 8 months after D.M.'s initial release. And cost 20% more.

I've recently ordered a 1/24 kit, 1/24 engine bay, some decals and odd bits. Circa 120 euros total goods cost and the postage comes to around 10 euros.

I have also ordered from Spot Model this week,a Belkits 1/24 display case and some Scale Motorsport decals I couldn’t get anywhere else.

But I'm guessing those orders are both with delivery by Royal Mail, Terry & Chris?

I tried again last week to put some Tamiya panel line wash in my cart - it allows you to do that, but as I said earlier no courier options show up and when I tried to check out it wouldn't do so - didn't give any message as to why, just didn't work!

It won't even allow you to buy Tamiya Epoxy putty - and I can't see how that's classed as hazardous goods...?!

I also tried to see if I could order panel line wash from Domino model - and the UK doesn't even show up in the drop down postage destination list!

Yes Keith, mine was with Royal Mail and arrived today, very quick delivery and no mention of customs apart from a text saying customs had been cleared. Less than a week I think, the Spot Model box has a nice pencil sketch of a Porsche on the top as well!.Chris.

Yes Keith, mine covered postage fully. Not expecting the package for a while yet though as at least one item required them to order it in. Trouble is, their website and order system is so good, I'm able to keep adding to the order whilst the long lead item is awaited. I keep spotting other bits and pieces so I could end up spending a fortune with them!

I've had rather nice pencil sketches on invoice letters and even stickers from Spotmodels . It's the little things that I like with them .

Ditto, and always a nice hand written 'thank you' on the printed invoice too :)

I know I keep banging on about it, but I do miss being able to get stuff from them now that was so useful in the past. :(

Looks like Tiger Hobbies. Check this post

The link also mentions a   Toyota Celica ST205 kit too ! That's the one with the infamous turbo restrictor bypass , but a kit of that will be great . Bring it on please 🙏

I think it’s retailerS, @keefr22 and anyone who’s selling them in the UK is getting them from Tiger. A list of ALL the retailers on the Tiger web site would be helpful, but it’s probably not fair to ask them to promote one of THEIR customers over the others…

That said, I’d love to know, too!

best,

M.
