holtaa
Here is my 1/72nd Academy F/A-18C that I just finished as part of the Hornet group build. I used the Wolfpack dropped flaps wing set and custom printed decals for the digital hornet of VMFA-314. The WIP is here: I think I need to spend some time to develop my photography skills, or at least dig out the SLR instead of using the cell phone… but here she is. HAMP man
A+ for the model and surely A++ for the work involved in creating the paint scheme. How long did the masking actually take? Strickers
Vultures1
That is excellent work, well done! Maximum respect for masking that digital scheme
PATRICK FROM THE SANDS
Superb Hornet, but the kit deserves a darker background for the photos to highlight the outstanding work of the digital cam! Top Class!
Sky Keg
Oh boy that turned out great!!!! 😎 Now you need to pair it with a Flanker in digital scheme and colors. 😬 Mike

How long did the masking actually take? Strickers Thanks for the compliment. The actual masks took about 8 hours to draw in AutoCAD and only 10 minutes to cut out on my Silhouette cutting machine. The actual application took a week of 1-2 hours of placing the individual masks, painting a color and waiting a day to do it again for the next color. It took nearly as long to take them all off, I kept finding little masks throughout the decaling and final assembly - I found the last one just as I was starting to add the final varnish. 11 hours ago, Vultures1 said: That is excellent work, well done! It was actually more fun than I thought. 8 hours ago, PATRICK FROM THE SANDS said: Superb Hornet, but the kit deserves a darker background for the photos to highlight the outstanding work of the digital cam! Top Class! Thanks - and yes, you are correct - it does look better on a dark background. I really need to focus on my photography skills - sorry for the pun!
