Paint samples prepared on Leneta drawdown cards

Paint code STARTER<number> is from paints included in Airfix Starter Sets.

Readouts done using an D65/10 SCI spectrophotometer.

Glossiness measured on 60deg gloss meter. The real gloss level is often different than vendor suggests in paint name.

Not 100% complete, will be updated.

Gloss level - The measurement scale, Gloss Units (GU), of gloss meters is a scaling based on a highly polished reference black glass standard with a defined refractive index having a specular reflectance of 100GU at the specified angle.

The following descriptive scale was used:

  • <5 GU - Flat
  • 5-10 - Velvet
  • 10-15 - Eggshell
  • 15-25 - Low Sheen
  • 25-50 - Semi Gloss
  • 50-80 - Gloss
  • >80 - High Gloss
