USS Hancock carrier ops, 1972

I thought some of you tailhook types might find this film footage of interest. An hour loing and no sound, but worth watching. Watch for a VA-174 Scooter carrying LGB's! Those were golden days, before the many types assigned all got replaced by F-18's! (Old school and I don't care who knows it!) Footage via YouTube.

Nice footage, especially the A-4s with LGBs, another rare load can be seen at the 2:34 mark of this video:

showing a brief look of a SUU-7 dispenser on a A-4. The rest of the video is pretty good as well showing the loading of Bullpups on Skyhawks with the older dedicated pylon.

Many thanks, Podner!

Back when we used real airplanes from short carriers (mind you, the really real airplanes in this video only appear at 5:00, 16:06 and 1:00:11)!

It does bring a tear to the ol' eyes.
