Though my struggles are quite recent, I already remember mostly the good parts about this kit too. 
And truth to be told, after getting the lower hull together, it really was mostly joy and fun.

It's finally finished.

 

To conclude, despite a few mishaps the kit was a pleasure to build.

It shows its age a bit against the recent kits considering the detail sharpness,

but builds into a really nice detailed model.

Mostly I try to to solder my PE parts, especially larger ones. 
And on smaller details and attaching PE to plastic I use regular CA glue.
