A simple vignette or will you go for a tougher, trenches and all, type affair? Good luck in your build whatever you choose.👍

Hi Stef

(Dropping in from Twitter?)

Small, out of necessity and preference.

A barbed wire-strewn patch of no man's land with as many accessories as I can find.

Cheers

Yep, that's me. I saw your post on there and wondered what you were planning. Later on I saw it on here and now I know. 👍

It looks rather interesting so I will keep an eye on your progress.

Thanks. It will be slooow but I hope to recreate a bit of grimy hell.

A nice running pose.

ICM Models are very good. So nice to have a CHOICE of WW1 figures.

I hope the staff of this company are okay.  And I'll stop there in case I stray into "politics".

Now, I've had a tutorial, with photos, on Twitter about how I've arranged the straps incorrectly here.

Two points:

1. It comes down to what will fit where, since I'm dealing with hard plastic rather than soft fabrics. So the finished article has to look something like plausible. And stuff has to fit somewhere.

2. I don't really care if 'things are in the wrong place.' If it looks okay, that's okay.

That said, I've made a note and can make a more accurate job of the remaining two figures in this project.

Assuming I remember...

Had to attach the rifle. A bit awkward fitting it into the hands, so it's in place early to avoid damaging paintwork.

Now attaching the sling.

Not allowed to swear on here.

Rest assured, there's plenty of that going on whilst this stage is progressing.

Colours time!

Too much green in the jacket, which serves me right for painting in artificial light.

Dark earth has turned to cottage cheese during the winter. That's the downside of enamels.

Miles to go before I sleep.

No time to upload photos today, but basic uniform colours on now.

Maybe too dark, but highlights should help there.

So nice to be back on home ground

Who is the bassist. It reminds me of Kim Deal but I don't think it is Kim Deal.🤔

Ha!

Nice results. "The Germans wore grey, you wore blue” (Casablanca, 1942). As the mens' uniforms are a similar grey, could that colourful geometric camouflage shown on the box art helmet add more variety to one of the figures?
