Enzo the Magnificent
He who dies with the most Matchbox kits in progress, wins! The Boeing P-12E was the very first Matchbox kit I ever built. There are two Classic GBs this year. The second one will be the Revell/Monogram Classic GB, commencing on 25 June. This build is intended to provide the first half of a link between the two groupbuilds. 5

Enzo the Magnificent
Okay, let's catch this one up! The sprues are standard Matchboxy multi-coloured goodness! The riveting on the fuselage is quite heavy, but that's easily solved with a piece of wet and dry paper, should one wish to do so. I didn't.
Enzo the Magnificent
I didn't mess around much with the cockpit interior as very little will be seen. I simply painted the sides with interior green and the floor with a wood colour. I did, however, add an Eduard seat harness as this will actually be visible. See... Cockpit masked off and the whole thing primed with grey plastic car primer from a rattle can.
Enzo the Magnificent
The fuselage was the sprayed with Lifecolor UA-220. Here comes the tricky bit! Masking is a bit problematic, simply due to the diminutive size of the model. I sprayed the yellow with car paint from a rattle can. I used Fiat Golden Yellow. As you can see, it needs a lot of work with touchups.

John
I love the wee P-12. You get to paint the plastic the same colours as the plastic 😃 John
Enzo the Magnificent
And we're finished... I'm quite sad to see this GB heading towards its culmination this weekend. However, we have the Classic Monogram/Revell GB to look forward to for the rest of the year. I have a plan to link that GB with this one...
