Peter Browne
Does anyone use tippet line (for making fishing flys) to rig their models? If so, what are the pros and cons? What brand and size etc? Thanks Peter
Seawinder
I use it and like it. Pros: it's strong and comes in various sizes. It'll actually strengthen the model just like the real thing. Cons: it's round diameter (not a big deal unless you've got to have airfoil contour), and it has to be tensioned, which means some strategizing for drilling of holes. I build 1/48 scale and generally use 2.2 lb. test, AKA 7X, nominally .004" diameter for WW1 subjects. I usually tint it with some metallic applied with a minibrush. dov
Me too! Be carefull, if you build a bigger plane! Summery of forces by elasticity can be too big! Happy modelling
