NuNu 1/24 BMW M8 GTE Red Bull iRracing 2020 Sebring 2020 Winner

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I have completed BMW M8 GTE this time.

It is a product of Nu Nu, which is introducing various 1/24 scale vehicles these days.

I happened to see M8 on the street version, and its force was incredible.

The GTE M8 may not be seen on the road, but I fell in love with the M8 and made a kit.

I applied the detail-set that Nunu releases with the car.

It contains an etching set, carbon decals, and antennas together, and the manual is easy to work with.

This livery only exists in an e-sports racing game called iRacing, so there are no pictures of real cars, only game graphics.

At first, I thought of a semi-gloss or matte finish, as in game graphics.

When I tested it before painting, I didn't like the color of my body to be cloudy when I applied it in semi-gloss or matte color.

After finishing the gloss polishing work, I thought about whether to put on a matte or not for a few days, and I ended up with gloss again this time.

As decals are applied to the entire body, it took a long time to reduce the steps on the decal and the painting surface.

It's my first time making NuNu, and I think it would be great if it contains a little bit of Hasegawa's sharpness. 😄
This time, I liked Decal so much that I was able to have fun working on it.

Decal work takes a lot of work, but when I see the results after completion, I keep doing it because it's cool.

I hope you like it. :)

The usual high quality we've come to expect from you. I must say that applies in particular to the decals which look like they have lots of potential for disaster (which has been well avoided here).

One thing which hadn't registered with me until your photos with the can is how different the blues on red bull racing cars and cans are.

Just had chance to watch the video, and a really enjoyable 30 minutes it was! Thanks for taking the time to put them together!

Oh, and I have to say that despite hours of sanding and polishing I've never got a shine on Mr Color GX112 like you have! :)

I'm glad the color of the Red Bull cars isn't the color of cans. Cans color is... How should I say this? It's little bit old-fashioned, I think. 😅

First, the painted surface must be dried sufficiently at least a week.

Then, 6000, 8000 sand paper  wet sanding  ->  compound -> wax  :)
