Spitfire Mk. IX c eduard 1/48 Desert Wind

Recommended Posts

Well hi all,

I finished my Spitfire the some  weeks ago. The eduard kit is really nice , except the construction of the wheelbay.  Totally overconstructed…. Too many parts for a simple thing, without any sense. Same as on P-51 and all the others. But nevertheless I had much fun with the paintjob and the weathering!

But enough waffling, please enjoy the pictures!

Have a nice weekend

This is outstanding! I love the diorama and the figure.  With the backdrop I could almost believe this was a real aircraft.  Plus it's a camo scheme after my own heart! 😆

How did you do the dusty wheels?  That's an area I really could improve on...

This looks absolutely wonderful,  you've done a great job on the paint and weathering Andy  and I love the backdrop too. Great work and photos.

Hi Chris,

the wheels are dusted with Tamiya Buff, very high diluted with alcohol. Very easy to do with airbrush.

Hope it will help

Thanks Andy , it's  a good effect and I  may have to try and replicate with mig powders and a fine brush.

Fantastic build and it looks like real in the diorama.

Impressive work !

True about the kit. Very nice but a bit on the complicated side.
