AliGauld
Nice to have you back Simon, Nothing a rub down with an old T-Shirt won't cure. It will all be fine. Cheers, Alistair
giemme
The bottom air intake is a bit of a PITA on Tamiya kits as well, I had my share of sanding/filling/sanding to do there. I'm sure you'll fix it properly, Simon Ciao
Spookytooth
Thanks @cobraleader, @Hamden, @AliGauld and @giemme. Well , I gave her a rub over with some 1000 grit and removed a lot of roughness, but while doing that I knocked one of the tail planes off. Luckily in came off intact and I was able to re-fit it and left it to set overnight. A quick file here and there before giving a coat of Alcad2 Gloss Black Base. As @giemme said the intake still needs a bit of work. But the rest of the undersides look OK. Still a bit of roughness but I will rub her down with some wet and dry tomorrow ( I am going to let the paint cure overnight). I am happy in some aspects but not in others, but hey that` the hobby for you. Stay safe. Simon.
Spookytooth
Thanks @Massimo, @Hamden, @AliGauld, @giemme and @cobraleader. OK, on with the show as they say. I gave her a rub down with some wet and dry 200 (Wet) Yep, that bloody oil cooler lip fell off, damn. So did the tail plane, again, though the other side this time. Leave to set and start again I suppose. Stay safe. Simon.
Spookytooth
Thanks @elger, @cobraleader, @AliGauld and @Hamden. Spookytooth
Thanks @giemme and @AliGauld. Undersides done. Still a blob there, sand and repeat I suppose. As usual, leave to dry overnight, which means it`s time for tea, fish and chips... Have a great night . Simon.

Spookytooth
Thanks @AliGauld. @giemme and @Hamden. OK folks, final posting for tonight, other things have turned up. The wife has been taken into Hospital at tea time, she has got a heart problem and is due to go in for open heart surgery later this year. I now await a call from our local hospital Q.A. But before then I was able to spray some Alcad2 Aluminium ALC 101. Wheel hubs had a light dusting. Followed by the main U/C legs. Then I did the lower wings and tail planes. Yes @AliGauld the blob has gone, I hope. I now sit and wait for a phone call. You all stay safe. Simon. 3

Niall R Thank you for your kind words and best wishes. Rose was discharged from hospital last night, about 10ish. It seems that it was a panic attack that got the better of her but the Quacks have told her to take it easy. Which all in all is a great relief. Thanks @cobraleader and @Sturmovik. Well, after having the sparky around t fix a duff socket in the kitchen I was able to get on with some more spraying. Alcad 2 Aluminium ALC 101. Wheel hubs second coat. Main U/C legs. Prop hub masked and given a couple of quick coats. And the wings and tail feathers. I am going to let that lot gas off for today do the upper wings and tail feathers tomorrow. Stay safe. AliGauld
That's all looking good Simon, but more importantly I'm glad to here that The Lady Rose is out of the hospital and in no immediate danger. Those Panic Attacks are really nasty things and can be completely debilitating. All the best to you both, Cheers, Alistair

Well. I forgot how quick that Alcad stuff dries so I was able to apply 2 coats to the upper surfaces. I will now leave her alone for the rest of the day to dry off. Varnish tomorrow. BTW what do you thin Aqua Gloss Varnish with, and what ratio? TIA Stay safe. Simon.

AliGauld
I find Aqua Gloss thin enough to spray straight out of the bottle. You have to be careful as it's very easy to flood and it does tend to pool on the wing roots and tail edges. Cheers, Alistair
