They probably skimped and use the same gear legs. Really you can get by with just different doors and wheels.  If this boxing really can do Blocks 25 and 42, you get 32 and 52 from the same box. I'm curious to see how they handle the Falcon STAR reinforcements and do they include things like PIDS pylons or targeting pods.

I suspect there'll be both options, the same as Tamiya provided in the Thunderbird boxing of their F-16C. Given the quality of the Pucara I think this'll be an excellent kit.

Why is this the same thread? The F-16C is a different kit from the F-16A....  Personally, I'm only interested in the F-16A, I already have a Tamiya C kit.

J

I guess because it is basically the same plastic with slight differences (lower vertical stab), cockpit, wheels, landing gear...

the rest is the same :)

if Tamiya would have followed up with a two seater and an A/B model, .... Kinetic would have a hard time... but as they did not, there is a market!

Fellas, has the MLU Gold kit been released yet?
All I see are preorders in online shops, but reviews are posted since May.

Also, does anyone know if the Block 52+ kits will see a re-release as Gold as well?

You got a link to these reviews? Haven't seen anything but what I consider to be pre-notices?  No plastic, no instructions, no nothing?

I've not seen a review of the new tool kit at all.  Releases and reviews this year so far have been based on the old tooling.

I would still personally avoid a re-release of the old tooling as a Gold kit just as I have all Kinetic F-16s up to now.  Now if you meant will they eventually release a Gold kit of a Block 52+ variant based on the new tooling.  They'd be idiots not to.

Actually, yes, you are right, just pre-launch CAD renderings and superlative descriptions, but no plastic yet :(

Hi

Thinking is making a European One camo scheme F-16A. I understand that I would either need a Block -5 or -15.

Any ideas if I will be able to build one from the F-16AM kit?

Will

You would be able to build a Blk 15 from the kit, the IFF sensors in front of the canopy would need removing if there's not an option to not fit them already in the kit like the Tamiya kit.  I can't remember if the lights on the undercarriage were changed on the AM. For a Blk 5  F-16 you would need to replace the horizontal stabs as they were smaller on the Blk5/10.

Good rule of thumb is, if the plane can carry targeting pods on the inlet the lights are on the nose gear door. This applies to all older blocks that were upgraded to allow targeting pods usage. The lights were moved because pods on the inlet stations block the lights mounted on the main gear

We decide to include the ADF Variant Parts to the molds and added the Portuguese Markings to the original set.

It’s a nice news and we would like to invite all Portuguese Modellers to check this and also visit the ModelScale in Montijo, September 24-25. The event is sponsored by Kinetic Model.

Hope you like it… 5 markings available on the debut box of the New Tool Kinetic Model Viper.

Adding the Portuguese version to the initial F-16A MLU Nato Viper offer is a smart move from Kinetic.

This new Kinetic Gold family of F-16 will certainly be best sellers, that will enable them to finance other

future projects on the pipeline like the Fiat G-91 Gina and a Mirage F-1 family of kits.

Well done Kinetic !

Will be interesting to see if they include early block 5-15 style instrument panel too, and not just the MLU version as in the old original. This would allow and open for many pre-MLU aircraft aswell

I would doubt it.

I bet this will eventually be covered by 3D Vinyl Decals aftermaket artisans.

Hopefully one of the 3D decal companies will do different generations of the cockpit.

Great idea to add the ADF parts ! Opens a number of possibilities without having to search aftermarket items, not only the Portuguese aircraft but Italian, Jordanian and Thai. not to mention those used by various ANG units for a while.

TwoBobs have mentioned on FB that they are going to do a sheet for the Puerto Rican ANG who flew the ADF but actually used it in the standard air to ground role.

I was fortunate to be shown the very first T1 test shot of Kineticmodel's new tool F-16 kit, and am now allowed to share these photos. Initial general impressions are positive, and the kit is a definite improvement over their original older tooling. Do note that these really are the very first test shots, and the sprues are even without any letter or part numbering tooled in. There are also a few notable areas of plastic shrinkages and rougher, unpolished areas, which I'm told will be worked out as the mold and manufacturing processes are refined, prior to the production version. Alright, I won't comment further, and will instead let the photos do the talking.
