Carts
Revells really rather lovely U-Boat in 1/144th scale, the Das Boot 40th anniversary issue with the paints and a film poster, added the superb Youngs miniatures Captain bust to the mix, lovely clean casting and details. Have had a hankering to build a seascape, and thanks to you-tube I hit upon the "Tin foil and kitchen roll" method, extra wave and wake effects added using cotton wool liberally soaked in gloss varnish, all brush painted. 53

mick b
Superb replica. I remember being blown away by the realism of the series when it was shown on BBC2 back in the day and it still holds up today. Mike

Bertie McBoatface
That, Mr Carts, is gorgeous. From the very recognizable face to the terrifying water, the splendid sub to the professional woodwork and labels. Get it entered in any competition and you must surely come home with the cup.

sardaukar
I don't come in this section much, but the name of one of my favourite war films dragged me in. Fantastic job .

ErikT
Ugh, just looking at this makes me feel all queasy and claustrophobic. You've certainly captured the essence of the film and the boat itself. Superbly well done, especially the sea. I now have a hankering to build one myself, though I think we'll all have a heck of a challenge to meet the standard that you've set with this one!
