Hi all

Been working on this one, it's the RS models P322-1 Lightning,  a limited run model that was quite enjoyable to assemble.

I have wanted to aquire a Lightning with roundels for my collection.

It has been assembled OOB apart from some foil seatbelts and brushpainted in Humbrol and Colourcoats enamels.

That's very smart in RAF colours. Unusual too.

Thanks Bertie,  yes it looks great in this scheme, shame they weren't accepted really.

Lovely finish on a kit you don’t see very often! Looks great in early RAF markings, great work 👏🏻

Thanks M.T.Dolby, love the look of these and have wanted one inbthis scheme since seeing one in some photos years ago and came across the RS models kit and just had to get it.

Thanks guys

Looks great, nice model of a useless version of a good airplane.

Thanks Robin, it's  a shame they didn't have the supercharged engines , although I like the sleek look of the nacelles on these.

This was my exact thought on seeing your build Chris - the clean nacelles really give it a 1930's retro-futuristic look.

Wonderful build of a difficult kit of an interesting and seldom modeled subject.

Thanks Cookie,  very kind of you.

It does look very sleek and I love that quote "1930s retro-futuristic look" Thanks

Superb job Chris,..... it looks just the job and I have heard that they are not the easiest kits to build either..... so well done.

Thanks Tony,  hope you are well, very kind of you fella. I have to say the kit wasn't too bad yo assemble, just the usual care with a limited run kit, the cockpit and front undercarriage Bay clashed so the bay was cut down a bit with a plasticard roof added, cockpit floor thinned heavily too, it all worked out.

Thanks Tony

This looks lovely Chris, but I have to ask, how did you resist the urge to build the shark-mouth option!?

Thanks Tweener, very kind too. 😄 I have always wanted to do a Lightning in RAF roundels.  Although not as good as the later production American machines it looks very sleek with the spaced out intakes on the nacelles.

Thanks guys

A very nice build. Having built a Lightning I myself, I can understand the work that went into it.

This is mine from 2018-9
