Des
Perhaps of interest to Police vehicle modellers. Seen today in single figure temperature Edzell in Scotland rather than in balmier Sarasota in West Florida was this Chevrolet Impala 9C1 in the colours of the Sarasota Police Department which has been bought and brought up to its current standard by an Edzell resident. Actually a former USAF Police vehicle which served in the US and then at Lakenheath in the UK before being sold at auction it has been renovated and finished in Sarasota colours because the USAF scheme was plain white and that department was one of the few to operate the model. While nowhere near as impressive looking reckon my Vauxhall parked across the road in the last shot is a lot cheaper to run.
Pete in Lincs
These can be seen in current use as you drive past the gates at Lakenheath. I think the crash bar on the front may be slightly illegal, but useful in the supermarket car park.
Vince1159
You can just imagine it... Driver of Range Rover talking to someone "the flamin' battery's flat".. Bloke with police car overhears "i'll give you a push if you like" RR owner "thanks but it'll need a few of us" PC owner "I'll use my car if you like" RR owner "ok i've got a couple of blankets in the back i'll get them to protect the bumpers" PC owner "right i'll get the car" RR owner sees the bullbars and faints... 1
bentwaters81tfw
We have a couple of these at our museum. One of our members 'collects' them. We had around 7 of them at our last pre covid 'open day', plus a big Dodge ex USAFE Security Police pick up which I get to drive on occasion.
