Douglas A-4F Skyhawk - VA-55 USS Hancock - Nam 1972 - Hasegawa 1/48

Recommended Posts

Happy to see this finished Skyhawk ! And a great one with a perfect build and the upgrade you had on the kit. A nice paint with the feel of the metal, an attractive scheme and I love the first of your ten collection !

So, wich is the next one ?

Bravo!

Lolo

You have done very nice and clean job on your model.👍

You definitely have very good modeling skills.

I would prefer you to mess up the lower surfaces more of your model in relation to the upper surfaces. It would look even more realistic.

Keep up your good job!

Great build, and I really enjoyed your very detailed WIP post too

Bruce

:thanks: Bruce , the WIP is time consuming , but as I wrote earlier , is an essential part of the hobby ( IMO ) if you want to share tips . And thinking about sharing tricks and tips , I would say that the STGBs are excellent for motivation and atmosphere between the members (  we really had good fun ) , but on the other hand , are not as visible on the forum as classic WIP threads .

:thanks:  very much Lolo . To answer your question : # 2 is an early Bravo seen in 1961 on the USS Saratoga  and #3 is an intermediate Mike ( laser nose , full ECM antennas but still in high wizz camo , except for the rudder ).

:thanks:  very much Giannis . In fact the intrados is quite as dirty as the upper surfaces , but , catching a glance at my photographs I realized that the light might be too bright , and especially the contrast between the black background and the white inducted some overexposure .

Bonsoir Remy,

tout a ete dit... et fort bien dit d'ailleurs!

All I can say is Congratulations for a jaw dropping model. Craftsmanship at its utmost best.

So, are we to wait another 22-odd years for the next wonder out of the Pannier's workshop?

All the best.

Bonsoir Jean et merci pour ton message . :worthy:

Don't worry , as written somewhere on this thread , I've been working on 2 extra A-4s for several weeks .

Been fighting with the bravo one's loading ( a beta version of MER , namely MBR ) , but I'm pretty confident it will be a few months ( yes months , not years :waiting: ) project .

Best regards .

Wow, such great work!!

Dirst model in a century you say, wow!

But not that you wouldn't have been productive in the meantime!

What is the status of your incredible Etendard project for example??

Very, very inspiring work!

:)

Hi Werner ! :thanks: for your kind comments .

About the Etendard ... it's been stalling for 2 years but it didn't crash :giggle: , I'll be back to it one day or another since I'm now pretty sure I'll be able to tackle the last steps ,  just like the IIICZ .

But , for the moment , this is Haseg scooter time .

BTW , don't you have also an Etendard on your shelf of doom ? :hmmm:

Hmmm good question.... need to check :D

joking apart, my shelf of doom is not to be underestimate indeed... but my Etendard kits ( Heller, KittyHawk did not leave their respective boxes if I remember correctly, neither did the Kinetic SUE...for inexplicable reasons indeed  ... :( )

Shelf of doom curreny has a long stalked Blackhawk, a Mi-24, a Mb-339, an Ah-1G, a Tiger tank, all in relatively advanced stages..  and a only slighty started Mirage IV and Viggen and Mystere.... all in  48th of course.. :D

maybe I forgot something... :wall:

I have never started a Skyhawk either... probably should ;)

What is next on your list?

Cheers,  🍻
