Muchmirth
1 hour ago, Bertie McBoatface said: Well, it's ok with me of course. Lets give it a week or two and see if there are strong objections within the gang of regular posters here. I thought that if three or more people explain why they don't like it, I'd revert to my second option of a rotted out rowing boat on a beach. I'm currently racing to finish an armoured car in advance of building in the ... Armoured Car GB! So I'm not going to be starting anything else for a while anyway. What are your possible projects? Yeah I agree with gaining more opinions on this one first 👍 and see from their. What armoured car are you doing? I see you have a fine choice for the armoured car gb with the gecko sod, lovely looking vehicle. For entrophy (and let’s face it it’s the only gb worth its salt 😉) I’m going to do something called “accretion disk” totally out of my comfort zone as a sci-fi diorama. Set on a toxic planet with a half buried, in red sand, mad-Max-style-cyborg-Gepard with some scratch built items from other eras of tank building (digital camo/mesh schurzen/graffitied dozer shield and spiked hatches/barb wire clad guns). A couple nice post apocalyptic figures lined up to boot. Then theirs the more complicated build which will eat up most the time called ‘the hammer and the sickle”. Its a 1/48 scale ww2/eastern front dio set in a bombed out tank factory during a tank battle (contrast of part built tanks/hulks/ruins and a factory fresh tank). Semi based on the krupp grusonwerk plant. This one has a surprise base, lots of figures ( soviet and German), a panzer IV, aufs h and a kv-2…. Hopefully! I think I might be able to finish both if I Plan right.

Currently I'm building an ARC Mk.1 armoured car as part of my Valentine tank series (link) Then for the AC GB I'll start with the strange German thing because it's got a great story, then the Roller because it's easy and time permitting I will attempt the old S.O.D for the joke potential. 😁

So overrated. It’s not as bad is it sounds as accretion will be fairly quick. Aaahhh I was wondering about this thread (the valleys) kept meaning to check in. Another goodie with the Aec… but I have to say you must have been a really bad person in a previous life with all this self flagellation…I mean mini art kits and gecko kits! 😜 I’m gonna buy you a horse hair shirt to wear soon.
jackroadkill
I really hope this one gets through; I've just bought an engine for my build. All I need now is the kit to put it in.... 2

AdrianMF
I won’t be doing a figure of me (however well qualified I am), it turns out. I have an idea that can’t be unthought, which is simultaneously very entropic and totally outside my comfort zone, thus killing two birds at once! I can’t reveal until you have got thru the bunfight and the GB has started. No pressure! Adrian

Bertie McBoatface
Look what I found yesterday. It's an ex-fire engine Landrover. Look at the patina, and all of those colours. It makes a weathered Luftwaffe mottle scheme, with winter whitewash, look like something you could do with a crayon. THIS is a challenge to all you clever painters out there. It's old, battered and visibly decaying, but still beautiful. Just like me! 3
Matt P
Here are a couple of mine for consideration. 1/24 Aoshima MGB, 1/35 MIG burnt out saloon and a part of a larger diorama with a German 3 wheeled delivery vehicle. All of which would need more than T-Cut methinks

It's not really a commitment to build at this stage, though I'd really like to share the experience with you, right now it's just signing up to a mailing list so that I can remind you to vote in the bunfight, and again when the thing actually gets close to starting sometime next year. If you havent done a GB before, here's a rundown of the system:

Bertie McBoatface
We have a new recruit. @Tomcat101 has succumbed to my blandishments and asked to join by PM. Here's the RFI that sent me after his talents: Stunning stuff methinks.
Bertie McBoatface
Here's another inspiration photo, of a painting of a boat, this time. There's some clever brushwork there, especially the water. Seen in a waiting room. (The sloping horizon is my fault, not the painting)
Trevor L
Late to the party as usual, but please could I join this merry band? I've had an idea simmering for a while which will fit the brief.

One thing I like is the way so many of us are keeping our ideas close to our chests. I love a mystery!
Tomcat101
Greetings Entropists, Glad to be one of your number and thanks to Bertie for the invite and welcome. For the upcoming event I was thinking of doing either an F-14 Tomcat or F-15 Eagle whose flying days have past. Enclosed are a couple of sample pictures of possible ideas. Kindest Regards, Tomcat101

Meanwhile I'm starting to think that my own ideas are too ambitious for 1:43, and am moving towards 1:76 (oo in railway speak) which seems appropriate because decay makes things smaller (as does cold water 🫣) 1

In fact you are as welcome as you were the first time you joined the Entropists. You were the thirty eighth member, and still are. Is it cold water that you have been drinking or have you been swigging down the jolly old Tamiya Extra Thin? 😁

Mark Cassidy
So now I have found the right place to post entropy stuff 😀 I ve started my latest entropy project, my take on the Shermans that were abandoned around Saipan , I've started a WIP thread over on the armour area of the web page, its early days for the project but have a look if you think it might be of interest. Heres the inspiration for the project, the guy also has done other dives on sunken aircraft ect And heres the link to the WIP Im always kicking around the web looking for new ideas for builds, I found this and was thinking of basing a build on this image, its from my research I believe its a Japanese Jake float plane that was sunk on Paulau Island , Im thinking of converting a Zero fighter to a Rufe floatplane and building something like this scene And I also saw this that may be of interest too , its a Russian WW2 era K class submarine in a submarine graveyard up in the kola peninsula, I think there are more more moderen 1960s subs up there as well , it might be of interest as well. Enjoy 4
Bertie McBoatface
This cornucopia of inspiration will never empty! Thanks @Mark Cassidy for the pictures above. I particularly like the submarine exposing its tubes! One more week to the polling!

There are a few other stories about her, some of which may be true. There are about 20 images in this set, all taken from the same side.
