'Ghost of Kiyv ' what would he look like?

Thinking about a backstory for a legend (and a GWH Mig-29 9-13)

And thought, nobody knows him, not even the UAAF...

So he uses a -29 from storage, ugly, weathered, worn. But as Solo would say, "she has it where it counts!"

He operates from highways (everyday another one).

His support team are like the plane, old, experienced, strong.

They scrounge and steal parts ammo and missiles whenever, wherever they can.

So I'm thinking old grey-grey camo, with chipped nat insignia, hasn't been cleaned is 5 years.

But has 5 freshly painted RU kill markings.

At the end of the war, the mig is parked up.

"She did well this one", the Ghost says, softly stroking the intake one more time.

Then he walks away, into legend...

Two or three years after the end of the war, a kid finds the Mig, hidden in a forest, with xxxx kill marks, looking as though the ghost just left it.

The legend was real.....!

What is your story?

From the kills this ghost is apparently racking up, it sounds a bit like they're playing Ace Combat, which has a back story similar to what you wrote, actually.

Basically, shoot down planes, get rewards. Use rewards to buy some other old, iconic fighter jet like a Mirage 2000, Starfighter, or MiG-29. Use more of the rewards, and the on base / in cave resident genius to soup it up and buy better missiles or special ammo for the cannon. Take off, shoot down a dozen more jets. Get rewards. Repeat.

When it's over, retire quietly to your log cabin on a secluded lake and serenade eagles with your cello.

Maybe they use some highway strips for very dispersed , very limited operations....

Not landing at the same location as takeoff, etc..  if predictable soon some missiles would strike the site....

Ive no idea wot u lot are on about???Do tell please

Reports from the opening days of the conflict  of a single Ukrainian fighter pilot with an impressive 'kill' tally , or maybe several Ukrainian pilots with fewer kills rolled into one  , or maybe SAM activity , or maybe some/none/all of the above.

Some claim/confuse him with the former Ukrainian Su-27 display pilot who returned from retirement and was later reported killed.

Very difficult to follow in a conflict where misinformation and rumour on all sides dominates.

Seems rather reminiscent of John 'Cat's Eyes' Cunningham and his reputed taste for carrots , in times of such crisis people need heroes.

I’m shutting this down before it attracts any more bots to the conversation. It was a bad idea to bring it to the forum, as it just invites political discussion.  Please think about these things before posting in future.
