Marklo
Now that my two Matchbox builds and my M10 are nearly finished time to get cracking on the Olympic and the Challenger, both of which are really painting exercises. Black and pale blue on the port side and the pale plié on the starboard.
Marklo
That’s the main hull pretty much painted, just unmasking and (probably) a bit of touching up to do. The masks worked out well. Edited June 14, 2022 by Marklo
Marklo
Just need to touch up the Hull red. I’ll leave the hull to dry out a bit first and I’ll start on the superstructure next.
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday, I love that camo scheme, but I don't think I'd be game to try it. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole ship painted. Regards, Jeff.

CliffB
That camo really works! It's really hard to focus on the shape the ship
Marklo
Painted the base. The Olympic is now at the top of the que so I’ll get stuck in from today on…
Marklo
Some detail painting and two of the decks and the stand attached.
Marklo
The decks mostly attached and painted as are the funnels. Lots of little bits to add, but getting there. Edited July 14, 2022 by Marklo

They can be quite time-consuming but worth it in the end, I think. She's looking very glammed up in her war paint. Regards, Jeff.
Marklo
I’ve run out of bits to stick on. However I am missing the roof from one of the deck structures. So find/replace the missing bit and a once over touch up of all the funnels, pipes and bits and it’s finished. More (hopefully) tomorrow
Marklo
Finished I ended up having to scratch the missing bit. I’ll take a few more pictures when I get a chance.
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday @Marklo, congratulations on your completion. She looks absolutely terrific. But in that last photo she seems to have a screw loose (rather like me. 😁) The stbd screw, but it's there in the previous photo. I must say, however, that camo looks great, in fact the whole ship does. Regards, Jeff.

Yes without the stand the two outer screws are easy to knock off. I’ve now stuck the Olympic to its stand and both of the errant screws to the ship

Bandsaw Steve
Great outcome! So much more interesting than yet another Titanic. She looks dazzling in that scheme! 👍
