Lavochkin La 5 FN Zvesda 1/48°

Recommended Posts

I have always thought that the La 5 was looking like a boxer, with an aggressive stance. I have done two of those using the then new Akan colors which were quite a change from the shades we were used to spray then. Both planes wear the number 14, the one without the tail bands is from the 178. GIAP in Feb 45 flown by Capt K.A. Yevstignyeyev, and the one without the bands probably from the 31.IAP, 295 IAD, but I have lost my file on this one. The Zvesda kits are great and detailed and I had a good time building those. best regards.

  • Zigomar changed the title to Lavochkin La 5 FN Svesda 1/48°

They look great, as you say they do look purposeful like a boxer.

Cheers

Great models, great photography. Like a boxer, indeed. This is my favourite Soviet fighter although I don't play in this arena. Très bien Jean!

Very, very nice Zigomar 🔟👍

VVS subjects particularly appeal to me. Love the La-5FN. Not the aesthetic of the inline engined Yaks, yet with a pugilistic beauty of its own, and such a significant subject in Soviet fighter development evolution during that war. Zvezda's kit of it is an absolute beauty -I have it in the stash. Hope I can turn out mine as well as yours.

Superb Jean!!!!!!  ( as we would have come to expect 😉 ).  I`m getting spoiled rotten with your impressive works of art.  Once everything gets back to normal, I`m coming for a visit because viewing your museum in miniature is now a “bucket list” item for me. :like:
