1/144 AWM Models Tu-22RD & Tu-22UD and Mikro-Mir Tu-22KD & Tu-22U

FYI - These are Soviet aircraft I like and I'm not in favour of the Russian invasion.

Lovely modelling indeed! There is something indefinably 'unusual ' about these Russian planes I've always thought. I find they look like something  almost.. 1950s science fiction  about them. I guess they were designed in that era so that's why?

Really nice models. Thanks for showing them!

Regards, Andy

As someone with a lifetime of experience in maintenance, I wonder how complicated changing an engine would be on the Blinder.  Specially design equipment is a must.  The Blinder is certainly a large aircraft as shown here.  That`s a very nice collection.  :like:

I tend to steer clear of 1/144 but your models have me tempted to see if I can find one of these and build it.

My unsolicited advice………….may I suggest the new Academy B-1 and B-52 for your 1 / 144 scale “itch” :coolio:

Great Soviey collection, which of the models did you prefer?

Any pros and cons?

I absolutely second your other statement....

Thank you. Probably prefer the AWM ones. Resin and definitely not as many small parts as the Mikro Mir ones. They go together nicely. Mikro-Mir - just too many small parts in sections and a cock handed process of assembly. For some reason, both of these kits have the "Excellent Aircraft" badge printed for one side only. I had new ones printed up in Australia.

Wonderful collection. They all look great!!

I have the Mikro-Mir kits in my stash and would be very happy if they came out anywhere near as well as yours (when I get round to them).

That's a nice quartet of Blinders, aka Booze carriers. Always impressed by the exaggerated, arrow-like form of this aircraft and outrageous location of the engines. Very Century 21 Productions.

I love them!  I've always been a fan of both Russian aircraft and 1/144 scale, and these are beautiful!  I'm going to need to build one of these for my tiny collection (tiny in scale, that is...).
