galgos
I've recently finished this oil painting of a Lancaster set against some stormy clouds, I've called it "Realm of the gods" Max
stevehnz
That looks lovely, the sunlight on the clouds is very well done to my eye & really conveys that sense of the immensity of the heavens flying over cloud can give. The Lanc looks pretty good too. 👍 Steve.
galgos
Thanks Steve; the insignificance of Man (even in a Lancaster!) in the ethereal magnificence of the skies was very much my intention when planning the painting.
keefr22
That is really lovely work, I like that a lot! Superb cloudscape, I want to go flying! The title is really fitting too ! Top job ! Keith

Caught it perfectly. One of the things I never got used to in flying was seeing how tiny a huge 747 looked when flying in front of a large CB cloud, just a speck in front of a mountain. It reminds me every time we're not that significant after all... 2
galgos
Thank you for your lovely comments chaps, they’re very much appreciated. The only regret that I have is that the photograph doesn’t convey the softness of the clouds in the actual painting, they look very hard-edged but I actually worked quite hard in order to stop them looking like cauliflowers!! 🤔😄 Ah well, it’ll be ok when framed only the study wall!
