Matilda I, A11, Infantry Tank Mark.I

Recommended Posts

Two great models there which sit very nicely together, makes you wonder how anyone fit into the Matilda 1 and its refreshing to see a matilda II in non desert scheme. Agree with what others have said about the tracks looking great

Rumours? Who is thought to be doing one? I'm obviously out of the loop on this one.

To be honest I can't remember exactly where I heard that, probably over on the Missing Lynx or Track Link forums, and I don't know if there is any foundation to the rumour.

The FC Model Trend one might be worth looking into but I haven't seen any detailed images of it.

Looks great. The Matilda II looks very modern next to her!

Very nicely modelled and presented Matilda Mk.1. Your weathering is most convincing. Photography is excellent. Interesting to see the two Matildas posing together. The wallah who named tanks for the British Army must have had a crisis of imagination the day these two showed up. 🤓

  • 1 year later...

I was looking around for Matilda 1s on the net and came across this build.  I am just about to start 3D Resin printing the parts for one I have bought the files from the net. If it turns out half as good as yours, I will be more than pleased.

Many thanks Rodders,

I'm aware of a couple of 3d resin printed kits on the market, FC Model Trend and Vargas Scale Models, both of which, I believe, have incorrect shaped turrets but they would be an improvement on the Accurate Armour kit that I used. I didn't know of the downloadable files but I wonder if they are from

Stephen Tegner, he had some 3d renderings that he was showing over on Missing-Lynx and they looked very good.

I would be really interested in the kit so hopefully you will post some of your progress on this forum.

That is a fantastic Matilda!  Very realistic looking weathering and judging by the comparison of the Matilda 2, the Bruts finally put some thought into the design!

Very informative post too, thank you for sharing.
