Vickers Vimy, Egypt 1922

Recommended Posts

This is truly a work of art, just an astonishing masterpiece.  I do rig biplanes myself and am always interested in techniques that get someone to this level and have two questions: what are you using as attachments points for the rigging.  Also what is your preferred rigging method. It looks like monofiliment in one picture and was wondering if you pull it through the wing or tie it off somehow.  Thanks for posting!

Dear Harold55!

For rigging, I use 0.08 mm fishing line - 1/72 scale (and 0,1 mm for 1/48), which I paint black with the addition of silver. At the first end I glue with cyano gel glue, and at the other end I stretch and glue with ordinary cyano glue. There are probably better methods, but this method suits me😀

Sincerely

That is absolutely stunning! As someone who pretty much specialises in 1:72 WWI aircraft I can fully appreciate the work and skill that has gone into this.

Gold Star!

I feel very contrite for not viewing this post until now!

Having said that, there's not much more I can add that hasn't been said already!

A superb build!  Those in-progress shots clearly show the high level of skill and perfection.
