Now that my Mustang is done started on my next project the awesome 1/48 Tamiya P-38F . Going for the markings of the 85th FS. Started spraying the Tamiya LP-11 silver in the Wheel wells .

spent the last couple of days finishing up the wheel wells. Raw umber wash added and Tester flat coat sprayed. Well well assembled. Next to assemble the booms and sarting painting the cockpit :)

Spent the day working on getting the booms assembled . Wich being Tamiya fall together just like it should :)

Spent the morning weathering and finishing up some of the basic cockpit parts that get closed up. Next few days will be spent  assembling the center wing section  :)

Center wing section done. Next to start on the instrument panel and coaming . Also plan on workings on the props and landing gear also :)

Spent that last weet working on the struts , wheels , gear door and props. Struts painted with Tamiya LP-11 and weather with raw umber wash. Wheels painted with Mr color poainted and weathered with raw umber wash. Inner gear doors painted with Tamiya LP-11 and Mr color exterior neautrul gray and my usual wash. Props was painted with tamiya paits and the red spinner was mr color. :)

Finally got my lazy tail in the hobby room . I used the Airscale dial decals and Waldron punch on the Lightning Instrument panel. Next to start finishing up the rest of the cockpit parts .

Spent the day finishing up more of the cockpit parts , fuel tanks . I had to also build another prop as i have made two props turning the same way instead of counter rotating . Still a few more interiot parts to finsh then i cam start gluing on the clear parts .

Last few datys spent glueing the main airframe together, Dry fitted the landing gear and props on for photo pic. Still more interior work to do . Then i will do some wet sanding with the 3000 grit tamiya snading sponge :)

Last of radio equipment done . Installed the rear window . Next to start masking . Then some more sanding on the airframe in preparation for paint .

Spent the day working on more parts.  Turbocharges painted with various browns , blacks, gray. Little drybrushing also. Nose painted with mr color 003 red. Added the kill marks from the Fundekals decals . Lights under wings painted with Tamiya LP-11 silver. Canopies masked off. Next to seal the center section off and the wheel wells .  The guns and cannons sprayed with Tamiya LP-20 Light Gun Metal .

Spent a few hours finishing up the nose. Weathrered with raw umber wash,flat coated with mr color clear flat. Nose dry fitted for pics. Center cockpit section masked off and underwing lights. Next to mask off wheel wells and start  spraying some neutral grey :)

Spent the day masking off the bottom color to spray the Olive Green. First  Tamiya  P-38 i built i used the MIG puddy mask. It was allot of work for me. So on this one i was trying to figure a better way on the next one. Tamiya provids in some of thier kits a 1/48 color guild. So i used a brand new blade to cut them off the paper. Then i laid the Tamiya Tape down . Laid the paper on top and traced the outline with a pen and cute it with #11 blade. Mask went on like a dream . I sprayed the Mr color  RLM Olive Green . Once mask removed only  had a few very small areas to touch up. Next gloss coat and decals

Spent the day adding the Fundekals decals . Forgot to take pic once i addad the no steop decal to the window area.  Last of gear parts and other varios exterior parts painted. Model and parts now have final gloss coat and ready for wash. Only thing to mask and paint is the middle rolled down windows  :)
