Sturmovik
Got this kit as a birthday gift yesterday. I'll be making a start on it from February 20th onwards. The first thing I did with the kit was to grab the spare wing light that came with it, and replace the one I damaged on my Fw 190A-8/R11. Here are the box and sprue shots. Sturmovik
Hello guys, I've made a start on the kit. Although my birthday is this 20, I couldn't resist starting it sooner. Here's the lower wing. I opened the holes for the bomb racks with a dull Xacto, and used UHU Plast to glue them in place. I found UHU's glue is far more liquid and takes longer to start "grabbing" the plastic than the Revell Contacta Professional. It also comes out in higher quantities than the Revell glue. Fuselage and cockpit glued: The rudder was also glued in place: I also painted and assembled the wheels. Later today I'll make a start on the propeller. Sturmovik
Glued the horizontal stabilizers a few minutes ago. Here's where I'm now, ready to build up the wing. I should mention that I used the flaps down option, but one of them broke, so I removed both and used the retracted option in the end.
Sturmovik
The propeller has been painted and glued together. Also, here's the engine. I think the fit issues I had with it were because the locator ring wasn't perfectly straight. Must have been that now that I look closely to the photo. After the engine was completed, I assembled the cowling over the engine and glued it to the fuselage. Here you can see the airframe fully built up.
Sturmovik
Hello guys, brand new update. I have painted the model. I used Revell Aqua acrylics 47 Mouse Grey, 65 Bronze Green and 49 Light Blue. The model was also gloss coated, and is now ready for the decals. The SC250 bomb was also gloss coated and had the sharkmouth and eyes applied. Some Microsol was needed to make the mouth conform to the curvatures of the bomb.
