The 747-8f kit measures 41.69 inches (1059 mm) long with a 37.43 inch (951 mm) wingspan. Fuselage, wings, and horizontal tail are made from sturdy high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) and feature recessed panel lines. Engines are 3D printed in light-weight, high-resolution resin and feature individual fan blades for a super-realistic look. Add an amazingly detailed landing gear set to model your aircraft on the ground.

  • Homebee changed the title to 1/72 & 1/48 - vacuformed airliners and more with 3D printed details by Titan Model Kits (TMK) - released 1/72 RAF Voyager & Boeing 747-8i/f

This is an impressive model and I think their strategy of using a mix of materials is smart.  Looked at the price and yes it is expensive but it is no where near what I thought it would be, it actually seems very reasonable give the size of this kit.  I am excited to see their B-2.

The possibilities are endless. Perhaps a 1/48 C-46 (which has never been kitted in this scale save for the Combat Models vac from the eighties).

And remember Combat Models is more a warning than a company...

To be frank - I am happy that I restricted my collection to subjects from years 1935-45, otherwise I cannot resist to do them... (or at least to buy them!) By the way - this is perhaps the most colorful scheme of Voyager (for consideration):

This is the only scheme I would consider as these kits are very large. These kits will be stunning to see one built.

For this kind of money I would expect a true silkscreened decal from Jennings, 26 or even Techmod or BOA. I don't think the digital silk will cut it for the Union Flag version. Failing that you could always paint the flag portion.

cheers

Andrew

Aerial refuelling system RAF A330-200 MRTT

Are the Cobham 905E wing pods and / or 805E Fuselage FRU's included with this kit? I haven't seen any photos on their website? Maybe I missed them. Kind of important piece of equipment.

Canada has purchased the 330-200 as well. It would be great to see it in the hi viz paint scheme.

cheers

Andrew

Hi,

From the website :

Quote

the Cobham 905e refueling pods are made from ultra-high-resolution 3D printed resin with fine detailing. Also includes the fuselage refueling unit (FRU) to model the KC.3 variant.

Don't get me wrong, I know the 747 is 1:72, but I also have a 1:72 Shuttle.  Of course a 1:48 Shuttle Carrier would be cool.... maybe? :hmmm:
