The Qantas aircraft were originally built as 1B series, but modified to 3B series. The Airfix Dominie kit is more suitable. John The are still in the running although the roundels are out of register . Easily replaced . Enough echoes of BEA to start thoughts of starting something else . Must focus or nothing is going to be finished . Must be those red wings . Clear parts and weight added and closed up. A dusting of primer in spots mostly around the cabin windows to reduce the time the liquid mask needs to be in place . Thing should start moving along now. So sand , prime , sand again . The fun stuff but slowly getting there . Hoping to get to the final gloss coat by the end of this weekend . Thanks for dropping by . I will add a fine coat of gloss to shine things up a bit . Grandboof Posted May 28, 2022 Author Share Posted May 28, 2022 Hi All This one is still kicking . Gloss white coats are done . Engines painted ready for fitting . First coat of aluminium on the leading edges . Now the backward step . The tape over the windscreen leaked drastically so it has been removed and is now enjoying a bleach bath in the hopes that it can be salvaged . Replacements for the out of register roundels have been located in the spares box . The blue cheat line looks suspect and has been given a coat of decal bonder.
