If you think the Hasegawa kit is difficult to build, you probably are not familiar with the Italeri RF-4E kit. That one is the real pain in the behind to build! 😂😂

Actually I built that one in the 80’s and it was a far sight better than my Hasegawa kit. Seriously the Hasegawa is so warped up front that i cant even fit the cockpit. The cockpit is about 1/4” bigger than the fuselage. When I try to close it up it looks like a football/rugby ball is stuffed in the nose. My only other option as of right now is a standard “B” with the recon buts grafted on to it.

If it was in the 80's, you probably built the yet to be retooled Italeri kit. It got worse after Italeri retooled it to give it recessed panel lines. Now you have mismatched panel lines, or other lines that end before where they are supposed to end, windscreen terrible fit, and a cockpit that doesn't even have a firewall between pilot and RIO sections and the wall behind the RIO seat ends about 4mm short and leaves a big gap to the top. A complete mess. And there are more flaws that could be mentioned, but you get the picture! 😂

Ouch … Maybe my memory after 35 years is a bit faded. I don't remember mine being that bad ? Here is the kit I built, did it in the USMC colors.

Thats why I wanted the Hasegawa kit, it comes with the same scheme.
