LightningBoy
Always thought this was a very interesting layout for a bomber and eventually got round to building one. The rigging wires look a bit thick to me on reflection LightningBoy

keith in the uk
Very nice indeed , Matchbox produced some unusual subjects in their time, and this is a good example .
LightningBoy
I agree, some unusual topics - Stranraer Wellesley, Lightning T55 (why not a T5?)... LightningBoy

Epeeman
That's lovely! - yes, the rigging is a bit thick for scale but it is lovely straight and tight. Regards Dave
Bangseat
Great build - one of those classic kits that no one has tried to better in 40 plus years!
Freester
I think this build gives you an idea of the scale of the real thing. Nice work, Imagine seeing one of those fly overhead!!!
LightningBoy
I once saw a Beverley lumbering past, I imagine it would be similar. LightningBoy

Maginot
Yes, good work. You've done the ungainly-looking lumbering old crate justice. Got a soft spot for these unglamorous 'tween the wars bipe types. They exude character.
Tomjw
You've made a really good job of that ancient kit. Nice work Tom

Horatio Gruntfuttock
Nice job and it is one of Matchbox' best kits i reckon. You might even persuade me to get mine out of the 'store of doom'.
LightningBoy
Thanks for the feedback. It is a while since I painted it but very similar to my RAFG Lightning I carried out a lot of research and ended up with Humbrol 30 Matt Dark Green🤣 LightningBoy

Col Walter E Kurtz
Lovely! The Heyford looks mental!! It's a lovely depiction. Really taken with this . incidentally the Heyford played a crucial role in the development of RADAR. Sir Robert Watson-Watt's team used it to show the Air Ministry that a flying plane could be detected by their first radar set at Daventry near Northampton. As the Heyford flew along a pre arranged path the showed that the RADAR beam was deflected.. it convinced the Civil Servants to release funds fr further development ... leading to the eventual Home Chain air defence system which gave the RAF the edge it needed during The Battle Of Britain.. The rest is as they say 'history'! A great model.. I'm impressed! Andy
LightningBoy
Thanks Andy, I forgot it played that role in RADAR, I used to drive past the aerials at Daventry on my trips up and down the country. LightningBoy
