Bf 109D-1 " Maygyar markings" Modelvist 1/48

Recommended Posts

I was looking for a relaxing built with no aftermarkets and difficulties. The colourful scheme of this 109 in Hungarian Air Force markings was selected and so I went. Building Ukrainian models is still a challenge but it went OK. After some research I came to the conclusion that RLM colors were all right for this bird, all MRP brand. A lot of masking has to be done for the Hungarian colors on the tail plane. The plane once complete had a little sparrow look! No decals but masks, a little weathering but to a very decent level et voilà. I do not have infos on this plane, Modelvist writes that she was in Varpalota in 43. An enjoyable project in a rare dress! Cheers to you all.

Sure..same as yours as do think this is the most interesting and colorful scheme in the box.

Got some more 109’s wich are all going to be in a different scheme than the standard ones.

cheers, Jan

Hungarian Fighter Colours has a photos of V6+02,  which looks the same.    They only got 3 Bf109D's,  V601 was used for tests See page 141

The used Hungarian colours, but they are close in appearance to the RLM 61/62/63/65 scheme.

Details of these paints are in the book I mentioned above.

The Dora looks great in these colours, and model looks superb, I really like the oil streaks on the belly :goodjob:
