Chaotic Mike
I'm after a bit of shake'n'bake simplicity, and have settled on the SH Whirlwind, because it looks fab! I'm asking about lightening holes. SH are clearly capable of moulding holes in polystyrene, and have done so in many places. Equally there are parts with shallow depressions that *look* like they could be lightening holes, but are only part depth. The best examples are G49 to G41. Does the hive brain *know* if these are correct, or if they should be drilled out? All help appreciated, Mike
hendie
without seeing the parts,, my guess is that those depressions are marks from the ejector pins - used to push the parts out of the mold
Chaotic Mike
No, they are definitely intentional. Lines of gradually decreasing circles on tapered parts.

Ray_W
I also have this: I see no reason not to trust this artist's/draughtman's cut-away. Ray
Don149
There are also slight depressions just outboard of the nacelles which can be drilled out to take the supplied bomb racks , if you wish to go for the fighter/bomber version . I did , and mounted on a stand with undercart retracted is how I built mine . Don .
