Marlin
Thanks a lot Werner. I'm not too old to learn new trix yet. I'm sure it'll be troubles ahead, but I will try and learn how to use my Grex. As for the intercept of the Blackbird it started with with 2 unarmed JA37 on a routine training flight that got diverted. But since they were low on fuel, two armed AJ37's was sent up to relieve the JA37's and they did then escort the crippled Blackbird out of Swedish air space. The Blackbird was then escorted by Nato fighters and could land at Nordholz Germany. But four Viggen in splinter camo I think will be too much for me, so I'll do one JA and one AJ. Wings unlevel
Great story about the Viggen escorting the Blackbird! Youll be right with the airbrush, if a clutz like me can get the hang of it, you’ll master it in no time!

Marlin
Hi. Warning issued to @trickyrich and @reini, this update contains a heavy dose of BBQ pictures. I've totally forgotten to update you on my BBQ adventures during Easter. So here it comes. As per usual we celebrated the Easter Holiday at the cottage in lovely spring weather. 20220415_125046 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr My lovely wife Anne suprised me with TWO Easter Eggs. 20220415_113240 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr As can be seen I'm nuts for salt liquorice. Good Friday offered such warm and nice weather that we could have a small herring plate with accessories for lunch on the patio. 20220415_141617 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And since it's a Holiday I thought that it was in place to dress up somewhat. 🇺🇦 20220415_190806 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And on Good Friday it was the inauguration of my new BBQ. 20220415_132521 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr A whole chicken seasoned with garlic, lemon, sage, rosemary and salt & pepper on the rotisserie. 20220415_155917 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 20220415_162556 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I think this became the best chicken I've grilled. It was served with risotto, asparagus and very much parmesan and some veggies. 20220415_174945 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And for dessert we had some tiramisu, a double espresso and a small glass of Limoncello 20220415_192041 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr On Easter Saturday the wind had dropped sufficient much for us to burn some branches and leaves in the garden. 20220416_102607 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Unfortunately my old electric motor saw broken down so I could cut up all small trees the wild boars had felt. The old smaller BBQ took care of Saturdays dinner, in form of lammracks. url=https://www.flickr.com/gp/156426495@N05/rj3Rh4][/url]20220416_183037 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The lammracks was served with a baked potato, oven roasted carrots and my wife stunning red wine sauce. 20220416_190828 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Axel did finish off the last two lamm cutlets with just some red wine sauce. 20220416_191819 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And dessert on Saturday came in the form of a Chocolate and Raspberry mouse cake, a leftover bit tiramisu and more Linomcello. 20220416_203058 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And during this week I've got the forgotten battery box and preassure vessel in the landing gear bay in place. 20220420_164529 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So now I'm almost ready for the final assembly of the Taiwanese F-16 But first I have to get the landing lights fixed. 20220420_165424 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I filled the reflectors with my Chrome pen. And then I very carefully glued the glass part to the reflectors. 20220420_170716 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've used Tamiyas Black panel liner to dirty up the wheels. 20220420_172423 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr It's a bit too black, so I'll use the grey one on the F-2. And I've been very busy picking up ordered goods for my airbrush set up this week. Some cleaning utensils. 248 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And some paint. I bought AK's 3rd generation acrylics to test first. All in Russian Green including the primer. 257 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I also bought a kit to use the Russian Green on, but what it is I'm not telling yet. And since we're talking about shopping I've also added two more decal sheets to my F-16 collection. One Romanian F-16 in Carpathian Ghost scheme. 249 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And one Greek F-16 in Aegean Ghost Scheme. 251 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr So be aware, more F-16's are in the pipeline. 81-er
Looks like you had an excellent Easter there, Bosse! I've been trying some of the AK 3rd gen paints recently and I've found them really nice to use. I thinned them 50/50 with the AK thinner and sprayed at 20psi with a 0.35mm needle in my Apex brush. Marlin
Thanks James. @81-er We had a very fine Easter. And thank you for the tip on how to use the AK3's. Since my airbrush has a 0,3mm needle to I thin more, or pump up the pressure more? /Bosse
81-er
You might be ok as you are, it's really a try it and see basis as every airbrush is slightly different. Dig out a paint mule and experiment James

Marlin
Thanks Gents. Springtime wakes the BBQ nerves up. But it also decreases my build time. Spring and early summer is the best time at the cottage and we tend to spend almost all weekends there then. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. I've now started the final assembly in the Taiwanese F-16 Yesterday I got the wheels, main landinggear covers and the ECM pod in place. 165 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 166 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Followed by flaps, slats and horisontal stabiltors. 167 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 168 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the two drop tanks. 169 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 170 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I didn't have time for more yesterday, but I'll continue later today. Marlin
Hi, And thanks for the extension of this GB. Two more weeks is just what I need to be able to finish my Japanese F-2 and Taiwanese F-16. And speaking of the Taiwanese F-16 I can report that I've put some more small bits in place. The nose gear cover, and a Sharpshooter pod. 171 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 172 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the Lantirn pod. 173 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also hung some Harpoons. 174 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 175 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And yesterday I started with the Quinta decals for the ejection seats. 176 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The sheepskin cushions are a bit too beige/pink for my taste, so I'll tryout a brown wash on them just to tone them down a bit. 177 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
exdraken
Great progress! The Harpoon loadout is not something regularly seen! Regarding the Quinta cushion, the indeed seem a bit pale! I will follow your tuning the tuning set closely
Marlin
Thanks Werner. I'll perhaps have some more progress on the seats to show later on during the week. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Some more small work has been done on the Taiwanese F-16. I've hung all external load. 178 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 179 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've continued to work on the ejection seats. I used a brown wash from Ultimate to tone down the pink colours abit, it's not perfect but will have to do for this build. 180 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 181 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And complete, with all but the yellow ejection handles on the side of the seats. 182 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 183 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 184 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I still have to glue the seats to the cockpit, fix the HUD and the canopy. And I've also got some nav light to fix and of course the pitot tubes. Add some detail painting, but I think I'll have this one done before the weekend. And then I'll use the extension to finish the Japanese F-2 before the 29th. To be continued..... /Bosse
Col.
That wash has made a major improvement to the appearance of those seat cushions Bosse

Marlin
Hi, Just a wee quick update today. I've got the seats in place during the weekend. 185 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the AoA probes and the pitot tube. 186 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Now I've only got the HUD and the canopy left to fix on this one, so it'll be done during this week. And then I'll finish the F-2 as well. To be continued..... Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Last week of the GB, and I think I'll have a shoot at making it. But it'll be tight. On Wednesday where going to the cottage for a four day relaxing weekend, but I'll try my best to get these two finished. The F-2 has got some wheels covers and a belly drop tank. 187 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And flip it over and glue the stabilisators and flaps in place. 188 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also masked and painted around the cockpit. Spin it half a turn and glue the slats in place. 189 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I have multiple place of detail painting to do, so I guess that is what I'll be doing this evening. To be continued..... /Bosse
arfa1983
Tidy work Bosse. I love it. You absolutely need to get that in the gallery!
Marlin
Thanks arfa1983. I'm doing my very best to meet the deadline. I did polish the canopy and primed it yesterday, so I'm still good on my schedule. If I can paint the canopy today after work and glue the ordnance in place as well, then I can fix the canopy in place on Sunday and still meet the deadline. Sounds doable to me. /Bosse
