exdraken
Due to popular demand link (I counted about 2 votes ), I will start this GB with the Myasishchev 3MS Bison Soviet Bomber Mikro-Mir 1/144 came out in 2021, more largely available since end of ~ Nov... I got mine form the aviation megastore, thanks for the great service! that is what you get, lots of rather big, and lots of rather small parts simple, but good looking decals and a colored 4 side view will be out of the box I guess,,,,, 27

Toryu
That makes a difference! A very inspiring model that you have chosen. I remember the BISON well from my years in Air Defense.

zebra
Great to see this Werner. I couldn't resist this when it came out, but then also couldn't resist the 3MD (and probably won't resist the VM-T!), so I'm going to build the 3MD and I'm looking forward to getting on with it.
exdraken
time for some work in earnest here as well I got myself some heavy literature (at least the pages are thick so the book is heavy ) the front fuselage needs some attention, as the small glass pieces surprisingly do not fall into their supposed recesses... but looks ok now, but more to come! the cockpit has some detail, not sure if anything at all will be visible later on but I am in search of color photos of such a cockpit! the book above is not extremely hepful what I found so far on the net is of derelict places, mostly showing a strange dark green color everywhere, the IP (minus instruments) and column are black though. the front fuselage parts need to be carefully aligned with the main fuselage parts.. next step! (do the small windows first!)

Bertie McBoatface
This will be one to watch. It's such an elegant aeroplane. That's a rare thing for the Soviets, I think!
exdraken
some more work, do not expect super paint work in the pit, hardly anything will be seen, if at all later on .... front part / nose glued and now engines... if I read correctly, Mikulin AM-3s /( RD-3M) .... burried deep inside the wing: but the turbine stage, were to put it? on the left, as Mikro Mir want you to put them, on the right a but further back, but without support were I would roughly put the,,,.... 🙄 thanks, for your informed advice!
Shorty84
Hi Werner, I think Mikromir is not that far off, maybe locate them a bit more back where the step is located. Here you can see the real thing: M-4 exhaust (from this walkaround) VM-T Atlant (see pages 35 and 36 of the walkaround) Cheers Markus Edited February 13, 2022 by Shorty84 1
exdraken
Thanks, very helpful @Shorty84 so I put the turbine face somwhere in between, but added a bigger cone (not sure what terminus woulöd actually be approprioate...) and closing the wings
zebra
Progressing nicely Werner. Mine has fallen a bit behind, mainly because I've not had a lot of modelling time lately and been spending it on other things, but I'll try to catch up soon!

I guess! Instructions could be bigger though.... taking up shape
Col.
Even in 144th scale this is clearly going to be a big model
exdraken
MikroMir 🇺🇦 Bison update some work on the complex landing gear assembly the parts are small and detailed , but the plastic is not brittle, so very workable! some PE to make everything even more complex fi seems good, but not glued yet, as I need to do more paint work first..... cheers, Werner
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Looks good Werner, that gear reminds me of the complex trapeze like gear on a B-58 hustler.
wavodavo
I'll be watching this with interest. I have 2 to build soon, bomber and tanker version. Hopeful to get the 3MD soon too. Great build so far. I've just finish the x2 Mikro-Mir Tu-22 and wasn't impressed. Hopefully these will be a better build. Dave

Dave impressed, no, but also definitely not dissapointet either! I rather like it! I have a Tu-22 waiting as well, lets see if it is different! a little progress towards closing the fuselage fit is rather good, I definitely suggest for lots of dryfitting though, as the constuction sequence just provides lots of room for very tight fit... align your parts! room for six! 6! crew in 2 floors.. those were the times... wow! closed at last!
