Richard Tucker
Short answer - yes but there has been lots of good TV this year that my wife has wanted to watch and I didn't fancy so I got lots of time at the dining room (modelling) table I struggle to finish things and often have 4 or 5 things on the go. One kit especially sticks out as I've owned the kit for 10+ years. It is a vacform which until 2021 I've lacked the confidence to do. It lay partially cutout for as long as I can remember. I considered completing it for KUTA 2020 but didn't. This year I made a little progress with the fuselage and then finally made myself do more instead of starting a few kits as I waited for the Matchbox one to start. I needed to buy a number of decal sheets and the end result is a reasonable likeness of the Westland Welkin. The other non GB builds I've done in the background follow. All are 1/72 scale and really dusty already! Please excuse the dust! The Azur LN411 was built the same time as the Potez I built for the French Fancy GB. This Polikarpov was an old Revell kit bought second hand by my son as a present. This rather dusty Eduard LaGG5 was bought from a model shop in Ilkeston that I visited for the first time. I got a Tamiya Seiran from eBay. and then got the land version as a birthday present. Over the last few months, I've been building Spitfires since they appeared in Aldi as a Xmas present. This IX is an older Airfix kit I got from a charity shop. The P38 was based at RAF Kings Cliffe. I've walked around the remains of the airfield. There is quite a lot still to see. The stripes came out well. The Polikarpov R5 was another present from my son. It wasn't a good kit to make. This Fw190 A5? was amongst a job lot of FW190 kits from a Facebook auction site. Also part of the FW190 set was a terrible dual seater kit. I used most of an Airfix FW190 and then canopy, rear section and decal parts from this kit to modify the Airfix kit to give me a 2 seater. The third kit from my son was a Hasegawa Mosquito. It went together very well. The Sword KI102 Randy was also a good kit to make. Last but not least for the non-GB builds is this IL4. It was a really old kit with no instructions or decals. I made it up as I went along pretty much and bought a set of new decals for it. Please excuse the dust! The GB completed kits are : Hawker Hart for the Scandinavian GB Northrop NR-5 for the Scandianavian GB. Handley Page Sparrow for the Unarmed (or did I just build this ? I'm not sure ). Potez for the French Fancy Coastal Command Liberator converted from a PB4Y-1 LeO 451 for the French Fancy Percival Proctor III for the Unarmed An old Matchbox Helldiver as the box was falling apart and I found some replacement decals. 2 Breguet 693/695's built alongside each other. One for the Heller and one was the Azur kit. The first completion of the year was this Tempest. I was quite busy! Thank you for all of the advice and help over the last year.
