Revell (ex Hasegawa) 1/72 B-25 J Mitchell - COMPLETED 15/05/2022

Recommended Posts

Decals and panel wash done.

Decals weren't so great. Combination of age breaking up the smaller stencils and the larger ones being very thick and with a paper like behavior. Plenty Mr Mark Softer and some slicing with a sharp blade later their reasonably passable now.

Used a Paynes Gray oil sludge to do the panel lines. Hope my plan worked out.

Now to let it oxidize and cure for the next couple days before I give it a matt coat or 3 and finish this bad boy off.

  • Evil_Toast_RSA changed the title to Revell (ex Hasegawa) 1/72 B-25 J Mitchell - COMPLETED 15/05/2022

And it's done! A bit later than I thought but within the cut-off time!

Used various oil paints and One Direction albums to distress the finish, exhaust stains are Tamiya Rubber Black snd Deck Tan heavily thinned.

Not happy with the propellers and top turret. Eurgh. Anyway!

Cheeky question: I don't suppose you have the decals left over from the "other" scheme from the Revell boxing, the NMF finish with the indian chief on the tail and the bird on the nose? I built this same kit years ago, sadly lost in action, I have a Hasegawa B-25 in the stash and I dearly love to go wit the same scheme.

I do. But getting it to you is going to be awkward and surprisingly pricey.

..One Direction albums...

If that's a euphemism I think we can all guess what for

Is Airmail unusually expensive out of South Africa? 🙂
